Details
Beyond simply “inspired by,” the Heritage Collection was co-created directly with the Centro de Textiles Tradicionales del Cusco—incorporating the artisans’ stories and traditions into each style—with 5% of sales going back to the CTTC to support Quechua weavers and their families. Style and sun protection combine in this functional statement piece, molded and shaped by an expert hat maker in Bolivia using traceable alpaca fibers sourced from Peru. This Western-style alpaca hat is based on those worn by Alpaqueros—alpaca farmers who have tended to herds in the Andean mountains for over 6,000 years. We’re proud to honor the important work of both Alpaqueros and Quechua weavers through this special-edition style.

A Story in Every Thread
After over a year of dreaming, designing, and collaboration, PAKA’s first-ever Heritage Collection is finally here. It started with a question: how can we co-create more closely with the Quechua artisans and Andes communities who make PAKA what it is, and honor their heritage?
Created in partnership with master weaver Nilda Callañaupa Alvarez and the Centro de Textiles Tradicionales del Cusco (CTTC), this collection honors the Quechua weaving tradition - where every thread carries meaning, and each symbol tells a story.
As part of this collaboration, 5% of sales are returned to the weavers as royalties - a core belief that we must protect traditions and ancestral knowledge.
